Yesterday I went into London with my flatmate Phebe, who I intend to have several art sessions with next term. After a walk around we visited the National Portrait Gallery where we observed the work of Jonathan Yeo. Although my artistic focus is for the majority that of landscapes, Yeo’s work perfectly captures the style of portraiture that I admire. I like that it is not only highly realistic, but has an added roughness that adds more depth and life to the painting. My favourite of the collection was that of Helena Bonham Carter, although there are a great number of works to admire, not limited to that by Yeo. I cannot wait till I am able to post some new artwork of my own.
